A new systematic review conducted by the MRC/CSO Social and Public Health Sciences Unit suggests that there is insufficient evidence to show that major multi-sport events like the Olympics provide health or socioeconomic benefits to the host population.

Ageing, Social Class and Common Mental Disorders

New research conducted by the MRC/CSO Social and Public Health Sciences Unit suggests that older people from disadvantaged social backgrounds face a 'double-jeopardy' in terms of their mental health, being more likely to experience problems both because of their age and their social background.
