The European Society for Health and Medical Sociology Special Award 2008

The European Society for Health and Medical Sociology (ESHMS) periodically confers a special award to a distinguished European scholar who has made a significant scientific contribution to the field of health and medical sociology and to the development of the ESHMS. Previous recipients are George Brown (UK), Johannes Siegrist (Germany) and Judith Shuval (Israel). The ESHMS has conferred the 2008 Award on the Unit's Director, Professor Sally Macintyre.
Professor Macintyre will give the ESHMS Award Lecture on 'Who you are or where you are? Social and Spatial Patterning of Health' at nine o'clock on Friday 29 August 2008 at the 12th Biennial Congress of ESHMS at Oslo University College, Norway.
