World AIDS Day

Speaking on World AIDS Day, Dr Ingrid Young from the MRC/CSO Social and Public Health Sciences Unit contributed to an STV news feature exploring new approaches to HIV prevention, particularly Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP).
Ingrid has led a number of projects exploring what PrEP means for people with experience of HIV and for those groups most often targeted by HIV prevention efforts, and how this might affect implementation of PrEP in sexual health services in the UK.
Her most recent paper "Can a pill prevent HIV? Negotiating the biomedicalisation of HIV prevention" is available here.
