Migrant Mortality in Australia

Australia provides an interesting contrast from Portugal for migrant studies, being a mature liberal democracy. It is also a nation of migrants with over two centuries of migration under dramatically changing immigration policies. in the 2001 Census, one in four people was born abroad. This study investigates the influence of duration of residence and socio-demographic factors on cause-specific mortality of migrants from New Zealand, Britain, Germany, Greece, Italy, Eastern Asian countries and the Indian subcontinent.
